Kinesiology
Maureen is a natural career and passionate about people. Combining the skills of Kinesiology and NLP, Maureen works with the body and mind to release fears, habits and limiting beliefs to free the innate healing potential. Through muscle testing Maureen can tap into the bodies’ neurology to discover what is causing stress and creating imbalance. By clearing the underlying mental or emotional blocks the body is able to heal and recuperate and the client is able to create the solution they desire.
Muscle testing can effectively be applied to a wide range of issues from physical imbalance, hormone problems, allergy testing (including clearing allergies), anxiety and depression to supporting your goals and making life easier.

Maureen uses her skills to enable people to heal naturally on all levels: mental, emotional as well as physical. Working with the whole person philosophy; identifying the cause instead of treating the symptoms, she can provide a comprehensive and long term solution. Treating all forms of imbalance from physical health, emotional stress and personal development, through neurological reorganization and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) energy techniques, to create better balance.

WHAT IS KINESIOLOGY?

Kinesiology is the study of movement. The Kinesiologist uses gentle muscle testing to tap into the bodies’ nervous system.  Any muscle can be tested by the practitioner applying a small amount of pressure to a muscle as the participant simply maintains its position. An unlocking muscle response can be an indicator that stress is having a negative effect somewhere in the system.

The body has its own innate healing system, its ability to maintain natural balance. Kinesiology seeks out the cause of any imbalance or dysfunction.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

The basis of Kinesiology is that the body and its nervous system are in constant communication with the brain. When the body is presented with a challenge, whether it is verbal or physical, positive or negative, the body always responds either by becoming stronger or weaker. Through Kinesiology we can then test the body for these strengths and weaknesses and determine the bodies’ emotional, mental and physical needs.

In freeing up the body’s natural resources to heal, the outcome means better recuperation, enhanced personal awareness, self reliance and a greater freedom to express the optimum self.

By combining the wisdom of traditional Chinese Medicine with Western science, Kinesiology offers a comprehensive methodology. Kinesiology works predominately with two fundamental communication systems of the body:  the nervous system and the meridian system.

Nervous System:

Science has taught us that the brain is constantly in intimate communication with every cell of the body, sending out instructions and receiving feedback. The brain keeps the delicate equilibrium of the body, making the most appropriate response to every situation,

consciously and subconsciously: blood pressure, temperature, hormone production, fluid management, immune response etc.

Working in conjunction with memory, life experience, attitudes and with the limbic system (the repository for emotions), the brain co-ordinates this complex matrix, taking all of this information into consideration in every response that it makes. The unconscious mind builds programs to run certain activities when a sufficient competence has been achieved, breathing, walking, driving. There are therefore an infinite number of possible junctions where the efficient operation of this highly complex system could be compromised. The Kinesiologist tests through each area to determine what is causing the problem and is directed how to resolve it.

Meridian System

The Chinese meridian system explains how the body transports vital energy or chi throughout the body via 14 interconnecting channels. The Chinese named these meridians after the functions they are associated with and any energy blockage in the flow, gives rise to specific symptoms. Each element is a combination of Yin and Yang in perfect

balance and has its associated emotion, season and flavor, all supporting and controlling each other. A direct correlation between the meridians and the muscles of the body allows the Kinesiologist to determine where the blockages occur and how to restore the flow.

Rebalancing

By following the direction set by the muscle testing, the client’s body leads the practitioner to identify the priority imbalances and the method of correction that best suits

that individual. In each session the testing is initially used to identify the imbalance, to understand the underlying blocks and then to resolve these.  There may be a combination of techniques used as there is often a combination of compromised areas, some mental

aspect, some emotional and nutritional or energetic aspect, genetics.  Gentle neurological reorganization techniques are used to clear mental and emotional limitations and re-train the brain to find better options (by adding logic to an emotional response or incorporation a whole brain response to an inappropriate reaction or misperception of a situation.)

Working with Traditional Chinese Meridians, Kinesiology will unblock the energy or Chi and restore the bodies’ natural flow. This is most often achieved by either sedating or tonifying a meridian depending on whether there is an excess or deficiency in the energy. If the meridian flow is blocked then it can be cleared by holding specific acupuncture points or reflex points, often in combination with releasing emotions.
